Nashville, TN (PRWEB) December 10, 2013
PhyMed Healthcare Group has been awarded the contract to provide anesthesia and pain management services to Nashville-based TriStar Skyline Medical Center, a 213-bed acute care facility.
The contract has been effective since January of this year, when PhyMed was operating as Anesthesia Medical Group (AMG). AMG is the inaugural practice in the PhyMed Healthcare Group family, a national anesthesiology service provider. After an extensive review process, the contract was awarded to PhyMed in December 2012.
The transition occurred, without an interruption in surgical services, entirely over the Christmas holidays, from December 20 to January 1, 2013. According to Daniel Scokin, M.D., Chief of Anesthesia, TriStar Skyline (and an AMG physician), “We led the transition with a highly seasoned group of healthcare professionals who were present on the ground providing Skyline staff and patients with a seamless experience.”
In addition to anesthesia services, PhyMed is also assisting TriStar Skyline as it pursues designation by the state as a provisional Level II Trauma Center, which will enable the hospital to reduce the amount of time and distance for a critically injured patient to receive lifesaving care. “After our move into Pennsylvania this fall, we are looking to expand relationships in Tennessee and Kentucky,” said Dr. Frederick Miller, CEO PhyMed. “The feedback we’ve received after the successful year delivering high quality anesthesia services at TriStar Skyline has been very positive and will certainly be an anchor for our growth strategy in this market.”
