Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea Announces Artisan Showcase Featuring the Works of Fine Art Underwater Photography by Cesere Brothers
Maui, HI (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- Dan and John Cesere, two brothers who are professional underwater photographers and who call Maui “home,” will take part in Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea’s
Artisan Showcase, appearing every Thursday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to display and discuss their images.
The master scuba divers have traveled the globe to document the incredible world of marine life. They eagerly share their underwater experiences in conversation with guests. Their still and video photography tells the story of the important work they do, helping to increase awareness for habitat preservation, particularly of the majestic 50-foot humpback whales who return to the tropical waters right in front of Maui’s only Forbes Five Star resort each November through April.
The brothers contribute their passion and talent to the Keiki Kohola Project (baby whale), using their honed photography skills to assist researchers by collecting data only seen underwater—including gender, body size, overall behavior and special identification markings.
These "artists-in-residence" will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from each photograph sold to the Keiki Kohola Project, a research organization that studies the behavioral patterns of humpback whale calves in Hawaiian waters. "Our challenge is to get close enough to capture detailed images of whales using video and still photography without disturbing mom and baby during the nursing season," say the brothers.
Four Seasons Resort Maui's General Manager Jean Claude Wietzel is pleased to welcome the Cesere brothers to the Resort. "These talented photographers tell incredible stories about their underwater experiences. Their passion for their research work and their art is contagious,” says Wietzel.
In addition to the Cesere Brothers photography showcase, the Resort team has developed many opportunities to help guests enjoy watching these gentle giants of the sea—everything from catamaran sailing, kayak tours and Hawaiian outrigger canoe experiences to helicopter tours and the Resort's signature therapeutic spa treatment, Wai Vari, that takes place in the ocean where guests can often enjoy hearing underwater whale songs. Whatever the level of adventure, the Resort's highly talented concierge team can customize a whale watching program. Many are complimentary experiences.
