What The Public Thinks of the Grammy Nominees for 2014
(PRWEB) December 09, 2014 -- The Grammy Awards 2014 is just around the corner. CBS is scheduled to air the awards ceremony on January 26 next year. Over the weekend, names of the nominees for one of the most prestigious awarding ceremonies were released and these drew mixed reactions from the public.
Big Discussions
While there are people who are still on the fence about the list of nominees that came out, it can’t be helped that there are others who are either happy or dismayed over the names. There are people who are genuinely delighted to learn that their favorite band, singer or song was nominated and others who were saddened to note that their favorites were not included in the nominations. There are those though who are just riding on the waves and seeing where it takes them. They are cognizant of the fact that everyone are born to always win.
Furor Over the “Album of the Year”
Most online bloggers and publications are complaining about the ‘Best Album of the Year’ category. They say that it is really weak this year and could very well be the “the weakest Album of the Year field in years”.
“I don’t even know them, and they call it best album of the year,” a blogger was quoted to have remarked.
Some people are lamenting about the fact that they could not find their favorite singers on the list of nominees for album of the year. While there are those who were “hoping for David Bowie in the album of the year nominations”, others were expecting to see Selena Gomez in the list as well.
It is not just Selena’s fans that are talking about this oversight in the nominations. A number of articles also commented on how surprising it is not to see the young singer on the list for best album of the year. This is especially after she was nominated for Song of the Year, Pop Performance of the Year, and Record of the Year categories.
Happy Fans
However, not everyone is upset. Sara Bareilles’ fans are excited and happy for her because she got nominated for “The Best Album Of The Year”. Also music fans are accepting of the fact that the strongest category in the awards show is the ‘Song of the Year’ and they are expecting Daft Punk’s song, “Get Lucky” or Bruno Mars hit, “Locked Out Of Heaven” to get the accolade.
All in all though no one can change the decisions that have already been made. All the fans and everyone who are interested in the Grammy awards will find out the winners and losers in over a month from now, on January 26.
