The Professional Protector Plan for Dentists Attends Last Mission of Mercy Event for 2013 in Phoenix, AZ
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- The event will be utilizing 100 portable dental units. Members of the PPP as well as 1500+ other volunteers will be on hand to make the MOM event run as smoothly as possible. According to the Arizona Dental Mission of Mercy website, more than $1,000,000 in free care is expected to be delivered to 2,000 patients. Basic dental care includes items such as: fillings, extractions and cleanings. Limited lab work (i.e., stainless-steel crowns for children, treatment partials) will be offered.
PPP’s involvement with the Mission of Mercy began in 2011 as a way to give back to the community on a national level. During the rewarding and memorable days volunteering at the events, PPP members lend a helping hand with patient registration, looking after small children, comforting patients who are nervous about receiving care and any other job that is needed of them. It is often hectic, but the PPP is happy to volunteer at the MOM events just to see the overwhelming joy from the patients as they receive dental care that they wouldn’t have been able to get otherwise. PPP Underwriter, Holly Miller, describes her Mission of Mercy experience as such: “For me, the experience at the MOM event was heartwarming. Just to see a smile on someone’s face once they received treatment was a memory I will carry with me for a lifetime. I would do it all over again knowing that there is that much kindness and appreciation during such a wonderful event.”
These events are solely about the patients and PPP is thankful to be a part of such a humbling and rewarding experience.
The PPP plans to volunteer at more Mission of Mercy events in 2014. Look for the current schedule and past photos on our website and Facebook page.
