Today, 2nd.MD announced the hiring of Dr. Richard Boxer as its Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Boxer will oversee the protocols that ensure quality, safety, and compliance for 2nd.MD’s clients and physician specialists. Dr. Boxer is a nationally recognized speaker on telemedicine issues who most recently worked for seven years as Chief Medical Officer of Teladoc.

Richard J Boxer, M.D. is board certified in urology and Clinical Professor at UCLA, University of Wisconsin and the Medical College of Wisconsin. He has written over 40 scientific articles and book chapters, won a national award for cancer research, and was awarded a Presidential Citation from the American Urological Association for excellence in Urology. In addition, Dr. Boxer has twice been recognized as one of the top doctors in America.
Dr. Boxer has served as a senior advisor on health policy in four Presidential campaigns and is an Associate Editor of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists (ASCO) Post and a regular contributor to multiple medical journals. He was appointed by President Clinton to the National Cancer Advisory Board (NCAB) from 1995 to 2002 and National Board of Advisors of the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) from 1994 to 1999.
