American Advertising Federation Taps Hydrogen Advertising in Seattle for U.S. Rebranding Campaign
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) December 10, 2013 -- Today, Hydrogen Advertising announces the launch of a new campaign for the world’s most-entered advertising awards show: the American Advertising Awards, until recently known as the ADDYs. Entered through nearly 200 local chapters of the American Advertising Federation across the U.S., the newly rebranded American Advertising Awards receive more entries than any other show in the industry.
“ADDYs have always been about celebrating the best advertising in the United States,” said Mary Knight, co-executive creative director at Hydrogen. “The rebranding of the show as the American Advertising Awards lets us honor the great work done in our country – in a uniquely American way.”
The Hydrogen team created an iconic flag montage of last year’s award-winning ideas to serve as the centerpiece for all national print and online messages.
George Riddell, national chairman of the American Advertising Awards Committee, partnered with Hydrogen to develop this year’s rebranding campaign. “The creative captures the camaraderie and the spirit of our competition,” said Riddell. “It is truly a salute to the best work done in the United States.”
Creative credits include Knight, co-creative director, writer; Tom Scherer, co-creative director, art director; Scott Schmehl, senior art director; Brian McCartney, digital production; Pirkko Terao, print production. The illustration was created by Cheryl Hooper of Cheryl Hooper Creative (http://www.hoopcreativepage.com). The Creative Group donated banner development on the project.
The American Advertising Awards is the world’s largest advertising competition with nearly 40,000 entries annually. Founded in Florida in 1960, it was adopted by the American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry association, as a national competition in 1968.
The American Advertising Awards is unique among other advertising creative competitions in that it is the only competition that includes three levels of judging: local, district, and national. Winning an ADDY at each level qualifies the work to progress to the next higher level. Awards presented are Gold and Silver ADDY Award for professional and student entries.
