CEO of Single Throw Internet Marketing, Larry Bailin has been named Executive of the Year, 2013. The winner was announced at the NJBiz Business of the Year Awards in Somerset Park, NJ.

The staff at Single Throw nominated Larry for his incredible contributions to the company, and Internet marketing as a whole. “Before Larry Bailin, there was no Internet marketing,” says Deborah Rogers, Brand Manager at Single Throw. “Back in 1994, he instantly saw the potential of the Internet as a marketing and sales medium and he took it as an opportunity to do what no one else had done.”

It is this approach – of spotting opportunities when others only see adversity – that has made Larry and Single Throw what they are today.

An elite panel of judges met to review the nominations for Business of the Year and the top nominees in their respective categories were selected as finalists. Judges included Thomas A. Bracken, president and CEO of New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce; Kathleen Davis, EVP and COO of Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey; Maureen Hassett, SVP of New Jersey Economic Development Authority, and Peter Kasabach, ED of New Jersey Future.

Despite starting an Internet company just when the dot-com bubble burst and officially opening Single Throw’s doors on September 11, 2001 – Larry has managed to turn a fledgling company into a thriving leader in the digital marketing space.

“While others are focusing on building traps, we’ll work on better tasting cheese,” Larry has said to describe his approach to bringing customers to clients, and the way he’s trained his staff to think as well. “We are always looking to take our clients’ to the next level and we have done so many times. Each time we innovate, we raise the bar and we grow – as our clients’ businesses grow."

In addition to being recognized as Executive of the Year, Larry has previously won NJBiz’s Forty Under Forty in 2007. Earlier this year Single Throw was named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey for 2013 and the digital marketing company has been nominated again for 2014.

Larry also sits on the national board of Students Against Destructive Decisions and is an active member in local chapters in New Jersey and coaches entrepreneurs in his hometown of Newark.
