5th Planet Games Launches Legacy of a Thousand Suns Mobile, Enables Cross-Platform Gameplay
Rocklin, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2013 -- 5th Planet Games, Inc., a leading developer of core, free-to-play games on social and mobile platforms, today announced the launch of Legacy of a Thousand Suns Mobile, now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. The new app connects to the Web versions of Legacy of a Thousand Suns so that players can bring their characters with them on the go and continue their progress no matter where they are. New players can download the app on their mobile devices to experience one of the most popular text-based Role Playing Games (RPGs) online.
Legacy of a Thousand Suns first launched on Facebook in 2010 and has since expanded to other social platforms including Kongregate, Armor Games, and Newgrounds. Described as providing “one of the best experiences in text-based RPG gaming” by Gamezebo, the game is played by more than 20,000 fans daily, many of whom log in 4 – 5 times per day.
Hailed for its engaging narrative arc and visually stunning artwork, Legacy of a Thousand Suns Mobile is a sci-fi MMORPG that takes place in the futuristic world of the Sian Empire, where old rivals bearing powerful new technologies are on the hunt for Princess Illaria. Players must use their wits, skills and weaponry to protect the princess and ensure she doesn’t fall into her enemy’s clutches, or else the empire will be doomed.
“With Legacy of a Thousand Suns Mobile, we’ve created a unified, continuous experience for players whether they’re on their PC, smartphone or tablet,” said Robert Winkler, co-founder and CEO of 5th Planet Games. “The community interaction within ‘Legacy’ is so crucial to the game, and we wanted players to be able to take advantage of all the other social aspects of the game whether they were in front of their computers or on their mobile devices.”
In Legacy of a Thousand Suns Mobile, as in the web-based versions of the game, players must complete a series of missions and navigate through a number of zones in order to advance in the game. Community is an essential part of the gaming experiences, as players may form alliances with their peers and join raids against their common enemies in order to do battle more effectively. Gifting, player versus player action, and extremely active forums further contribute to the community aspect of the game. With a mobile version now available, players will be able to participate in the community at any time and from any place.
