Ashland University’s Teacher Education Program Receives Top Ranking
Ashland, Ohio (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- Ashland University has been recognized as the top private college for teacher education in the state of Ohio by the Online College Database in its newest ranking titled “Top Colleges in Ohio Shaping the Next Generation.”
“This ranking solidifies what we have known for years – that Ashland University's teacher education program, which offers pre-K through doctorate level courses, is one of the strongest among independent and state institutions in Ohio,” said AU Provost Dr. Frank Pettigrew. “The undergraduate teacher education program has been NCATE accredited since 1973, and that program as well as with the master of education, doctor of education and professional development services are recognized on a state and national basis.”
Dr. James Van Keuren, dean of the Dwight Schar College of Education, was pleased with the top ranking.
“This ranking honors the post-secondary institutions in the state that graduated the most education and teaching professionals in 2012 and we are ranked as the top private college in the state,” Van Keuren said. “Ashland was the only private college in the Top 10 in this ranking.”
