The Alpha Pages Names Daniel P. Collins Editor-in-chief of Futures Magazine
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- The Alpha Pages, the global new media investor information network for alternative and privately-issued investments, has named Daniel P. Collins Editor-in-Chief of Futures Magazine and FuturesMag.com.
Collins originally came to Futures in 2001 and served as Managing Editor from 2005 to January 2013. When The Alpha Pages acquired Futures earlier this year, he left his full-time position as Managing Editor, but he continued to contribute to the magazine.
“I am thrilled to announce the return of Dan Collins as the leader of the Futures editorial team. Our readers are sophisticated and demand the highest level of industry insight and knowledge. Dan is much more than a great editor and journalist — he is an acknowledged futures industry insider. Dan brings the domain expertise of a true practitioner to his coverage and commentary. This move ensures momentum as we continually seek higher standards for Futures’ loyal base of investors and traders,” remarked Jeff Joseph, CEO of The Alpha Pages.
Collins began at futures in 2001 as an editor covering managed money and was the main reporter on the industry. Over the past 13 years, he has chronicled the important changes and events in the industry. His incisive point-of-view has appeared on TheDanCollinsReport.com, as well as a variety of prominent financial media platforms including The Options Insider, TheStreet.com and The Huffington Post.
Collins says, “I am excited to resume the leadership role at Futures. Futures markets are becoming much more relevant in our world and it is important to provide coverage of the industry and its products to a much larger audience. There have been a great deal of changes in the universe of futures, options, derivatives and alternative investments that will make the information and coverage Futures has provided for four decades more relevant to the mainstream investor.”
Joseph adds, “The quality, frequency and intensity of Dan’s trading industry coverage and commentary over the years confirms his position as the preeminent voice of the futures and derivatives trading industry. He is the right person to meet the new demands of print and digital journalism and an ever-evolving trading industry. We believe this move propels Futures and The Alpha Pages forward to embrace new opportunities and provide investors and industry professionals with quality information and insight on derivatives trading and alternative investments.”
