SelfLube Now Offers Trunnion Lifter Slide Sub-Assemblies
Coopersville, MI (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- SelfLube, the leading U.S. manufacturer of mold and die components, is expanding its offerings for Trunnion Lifter Slides, which are used in plastic injection molds. Currently the Company sells only complete units consisting of a moving sub-assembly and a fixed base which guides and controls the movement. Now the Company is offering the moving sub-assemblies as a new standalone product.
Trunnion Lifter Slides are popular with toolmakers because they can be purchased off the shelf as a complete unit, which can then be bolted into the tool. This saves considerable amount of time and money when the tool is being built. But, there are times when a standard unit won't work.
"A lot of customers have been asking for just the moving sub-assembly," says Owner Phil Allor. "90 percent of the time the standard lifter slide works fine and is by far the more cost-effective solution. But, there are times when space is tight, or an odd angle is required or there is something in the way. Until now the customer would need to create a custom assembly, consisting of up to nine parts - an expensive way to go."
Now by offering the moving part of the slide as a standalone product, customers can get the benefits of standardization for the complex portion of the lifter slide. This leaves custom work for just the base, which is the less complex portion. "This is a good way to go. You get the benefits of customization without the heavy cost," adds Allor.
SelfLube is the leading U.S. manufacturer of precision components used in molds, dies and special machines. It supplies build shops throughout North America. As an ISO 9000 registered company with five successive zero non-conformance audits, SelfLube is well positioned to support the industries drive for better tooling.
