By adding a new headless client for Linux and a beautiful new Web interface, our customers have more choice in which device they use and how they access and share their digital belongings.

Mountain View, Calif. (PRWEB) December 12, 2013

Bitcasa, the cloud storage company that makes your digital belongings infinitely useful, today introduced a slick new design and enhanced features to its Web app, along with support for Linux.

“By adding a new headless client for Linux and a beautiful new Web interface, our customers have more choice in which device they use and how they access and share their digital belongings,” said Brian Taptich, CEO of Bitcasa.

The new headless client for Linux offers increased versatility and accessibility including the ability to:

  • Build your own apps on top of the Linux client, offering endless possibilities for apps that need secure storage.
  • Install on any device to extend the storage capacity.
  • Power your FTP server or backup Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices.

The Bitcasa Web app enables users to safely store, find, stream and share any movie, music or file. With its new features, users can experience:

  • An intuitive design: A left bar has been added for easy navigation. Additionally, users can easily drag and drop files to move or upload them, and select files to move, copy and rename.
  • Session management: View all Bitcasa-connected devices in one screen and remotely manage or cancel sessions in the case of lost or stolen devices.
  • A unified viewer: View any file type with any file extension via the new unified viewer.
  • Deeper social integration: Share files more easily with family and friends with a deeper Facebook, Twitter and email integration.

Additionally, Bitcasa also recently released video and file support for FLAC files and RAW images in its Web app. Users can now play and play back videos in any resolution and format including f4v, flv, m4v, mov, mp4, webm, 3g2, 3gp, asf, avi, m2v, mkv, mpeg, mpg and wmv. The extension uses Bitcasa’s patented de-duplication technology to optimize download speeds and organize files. With the recently added video and RAW support, users can also play virtually any video format or save any photo file type.
