Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc. Announces the Contract Award and Installation of Healthy Vending Machines at Hill Air Force Base
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- Fresh Healthy Vending International, Inc.(OTC: VEND), a leading healthy vending franchisor, announces its short-term contract award with Hill Air Force Base in Utah for the installation of four Healthy Vending Café machines last month. Based upon the performance, Fresh Healthy Vending opens the door to potential future long-term contracts.
As part of the company’s corporate owned operations division, announced in October, the on-base machines will be owned by Fresh Healthy Vending and maintained by collective servicers Matthew and Kimberly Solorio.
With the four machines installed at Hill Air Force Base, Fresh Healthy Vending grows its presence on military bases throughout the nation, with current placements at military bases including:
•Camp Pendleton, San Diego (23 machines)
•MCAS Miramar, San Diego (three machines)
•Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Newport News, Va. (seven machines)
•McGuire Air Force Base, Burlington County, N.J. (five machines)
•Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colo. (four machines)

As of 2013, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) launched its Healthy Base Initiative (HBI), a demonstration project for Operation Live Well, aimed at increasing the health and wellness of the total force, including civilians and family members. While HBI is designed to identify effective ways to improve the overall health and wellness of service members, families and civilians, specific efforts will focus on making informed nutritional food choices, increased physical activity, weight management and tobacco cessation.
