Smithfield Sign Design “Wraps Up” a Profitable Partnership

Smithfield Sign Design recently reached a milestone in its relationship with client Carolina Comfort Air, wrapping the 100th vehicle for the local heating-and-air-conditioning company. The colorful graphics encasing the company’s vehicles are by far its most effective form of advertising, according to Carolina Comfort Air president Phillip Tyler, who says he receives more leads from these “rolling billboards” than from any other advertising.

“The wraps pay for themselves double and more,” says Tyler. “In our business it’s the best form of advertisement.”

Over the past six and a half years, Smithfield Sign Design has wrapped a variety of vehicles for Carolina Comfort Air, from the Toyota Prius to vans and box trucks. The vehicles can be seen on roads in both North and South Carolina, as the company serves both states with five current locations: Clayton, Jacksonville, Fayetteville, Raleigh and Myrtle Beach.

Smithfield Sign Design, which grew from a small office with one employee to a fully staffed design facility, is located on Peedin Road behind the Carolina Premium Outlet Center in Smithfield. Established in 1986, it now employs a professionally trained staff of graphic designers who work with businesses to create unique images like the ones that have proven so successful for Carolina Comfort Air. Smithfield Sign Design attributes its success to great clients and a team of passionate designers who care about quality and the customer's needs.

“If necessary, we will visit your place of business to gain insight into your product or service, and will consult with your staff to better understand the specific details of your requirements,” says Virgil Yansom, owner of the sign company.

According to Yansom, this approach results in a better overall result for everyone, with effective advertising that increases clients’ visibility and, as a result, their bottom lines, leading to happy customers like Carolina Comfort Air.
