Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation Accepts $328,132 Donation From Kohl’s Cares®
(PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation accepted a $328,132 donation from Kohl’s Cares,® which supports the Kohl’s Autism Awareness Program through Children’s Specialized Hospital.
A crowd of more than 30 community members, hospital staff and Kohl’s executives, as well as their volunteer teams, Associates in Action, gathered to celebrate the donation presentation. Katrina Holt shared her personal story about her son, Troy, 2½, who was screened at one of the free developmental screening clinics offered by Children’s Specialized Hospital and funded by Kohl’s Cares.
“I will be forever grateful for Children’s Specialized Hospital and their partnership with Kohl’s Cares,” said Katrina Holt. “It was through the free clinics that we were able to find out our little Troy needed further evaluation. With the help from the experts at Children’s Specialized, he was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum. We have just started therapies and we have begun to see some improvements already.”
This year, Kohl’s Autism Awareness program will support the Children’s Specialized Hospital Autism Education Program, as well as more than 30 free developmental screening clinics. Past hospital initiatives supported through Kohl’s Cares include Children’s Specialized Hospital’s Friday Night Fever, Adaptive Aquatics, Lightning Wheels sports team and the Walk n' Roll.
