2014 American Heart Association Go Red for Women Chair Natalie Baro
Miami, FL (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- Natalie Baro, President and CEO of Michelsen Advertising, is the newly appointed Chair for the American Heart Association’s 2014 Go Red for Women campaign serving Miami -Dade and Broward; a campaign to raise awareness about heart disease, the No. 1 killer of women.
As the 2014 Go Red for Women Chair, Natalie will be leading the fundraising efforts by securing corporate and patron support. She will work closely with the GRFW Executive Leadership Cabinet as well as the American Heart Association staff partners to achieve success. This year, the American Heart Association and volunteer leadership has a record breaking fundraising goal. We would like to make the community aware of all the latest forms of prevention with an emphasis on CPR by bringing them to every home and workplace in our counties and educating on the use of defibrillators. By sharing this lifesaving tool, we aim to increase its awareness and hopefully create positive outcomes from negative situations,” said Natalie.
Natalie Baro is the President and CEO of Michelsen Advertising, a reputable advertising agency specializing in the Healthcare Industry with clients such as Humana, Tenet Healthcare, Meridian Healthcare and over 200 Physician Providers statewide among many others. Michelsen Advertising has been decorated with well over 45 industry awards. With its many accomplishments in the field of advertising, Natalie will share her experience with the community and be proactive by announcing leading symptoms and preventive measures through media outlets and events that will help the community identify heart disease. “Unfortunately, it took the sudden death of my husband to learn the symptoms and educate myself on heart disease, turning my own life around,” said Natalie
Natalie's first efforts to promote awareness in the community took place as the AHA- Go Red for Women joined forces with the Miami Family Event this past September. The Miami Family Event was proud to contribute and present a donation of $25,000 to the AHA- Go Red for Women. The main focus of this event was to promote through sponsors and organizations a healthy lifestyle for the entire family, as well as educating the community in promoting CPR classes and training tips for adults and children. “My goal is to educate as many people as we can during this year by positioning the AHA at events and exposing the symptoms and preventive measures needed to help save lives.” said Natalie.
Each fall, hundreds of community leaders celebrate women’s heart health at the Annual Go Red for Women Celebration Luncheon and Love Your Heart Workshops. In 2013, more than $375,000 was raised for American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement. Heart disease affects one in every three women across the United States. However, only one in five women believes that heart disease is her greatest health threat. The association encourages all women to take charge of their own heart health by visiting their doctor and knowing their numbers. Blood pressure, cholesterol and other numbers can be improved by making lifestyle changes, resulting in healthier lives. For more information, please visit http://www.goredforwomen.org.
