Manhattan, KS (PRWEB) December 14, 2013

GTM Sportswear® (GTM) has announced its commitment to help individuals in need around the world through their 2013 giving program. The company launched its campaign to donate a portion of the proceeds to Soles4Souls, the global not-for-profit institution dedicated to fighting the devastating impact and perpetuation of poverty, in May 2013. With 1 in 4 adults in the world living on less than one dollar a day, basic necessities like shoes are not readily available. A pair of shoes can protect an individual’s feet from cuts and infection that can be life threatening if untreated.

Starting last May, as a result of the partnership with Soles4Souls®, 450 pairs of shoes have been provided so far to someone in need for each item sold online at http://www.gtmsportswear.com. Formed as a relief effort following the 2004 Southeast Asian tsunami, Soles4Souls has donated more than 19 million pairs of shoes across 127 countries.

“Bringing relief to people in need fits perfectly with our company’s mission,” said Dave Dreiling, Owner of GTM Sportswear. “We are delighted that we can help people around the world experience a higher quality of life through this campaign," he said.

Soles4Souls partners with progressive companies in the footwear and fashion industries like GTM to directly impact the lives of people suffering from natural disasters or striving to break free from poverty.

“We deeply appreciate this commitment by GTM Sportswear and its customers,” said Buddy Teaster, CEO of Soles4Souls. “From our experience, we are certain that the social good campaign will result in inspiring personal stories from individuals who have witnessed transformation among their families and their communities.”
