Rebranding clears up consumer confusion as online shopping increases

Hobby store Hobby-Lobby.com is now HobbyExpress.com

Hobby store Hobby-Lobby.com is now HobbyExpress.com

Hobby Lobby International, Inc. a 50-year-old hobby store that sells radio control airplanes, helicopters, cars, boats and more in-store, by catalog and online, announces it will change its name to become Hobby Express and begin selling online at hobbyexpress.com.

The decision for the re-brand came after many customers experienced confusion between Hobby Lobby International, Inc. and a similarly-branded business. With the emergence of social media and online shopping, the naming confusion was negatively impacting customers’ experience with the Hobby Lobby International, Inc. brand.

“As my company celebrates our golden anniversary of the brand’s founding in 1964, it’s the right time to adjust the company name,” said Mark Cleveland, CEO of Hobby Lobby International, Inc., now Hobby Express. “What we won’t do is change our company image. We’re committed to continuing to serve the tens of thousands of customers who have shopped our store in person, through catalog and online by continuing to offer innovative hobby products and exemplary customer service.”

Hobby Express will continue operating its store located in Brentwood, Tenn. and selling products online at the new URL of http://www.hobbyexpress.com.

Hobby Express is the inventor and manufacturer of the Telemaster, a line of radio controlled airplanes that flies beautifully and is built with the perfect precision of laser cutting. Hobby Express also designs and manufactures the top selling brands such as eRC motors, controllers, servos and kit airplanes, and the Pilot 1 line of vintage model airplanes. Now operating as Hobby Express, the company is looking forward to staying on the leading edge of industry technology going in to 2014 and beyond.

“Hobby Express was built on the foundation of constant innovation and we will not be changing that. As we move boldly into the future, we will continue to offer the new products and great service that makes us customers’ favorite hobby store.”
