New version of Smart Information Server (SIS) helps companies locate, analyze, and clean up unstructured data to reduce risk and storage costs

“SIS 2 is changing how we think about enterprise information management software,” says Greg Campbell, Chief Architect, Acaveo.

Acaveo, a provider of information management software, today announced the release of Smart Information Server (SIS) 2.0, the newest version of its flagship solution for information governance. With this release, Acaveo takes a major step forward in enhancing an already compelling value proposition for organizations that need better insight and controls for their unstructured data.

The new capabilities in SIS 2 simplify complex data cleanup efforts, increase effectiveness and lower costs for enterprise information governance practices.

“People often describe our software as a powerful execution layer for information governance,” says Geoff Bourgeois, CTO, Acaveo. “With SIS 2, we’ve made it easier to identify data sources across the enterprise and we’ve added new functionality for the illumination of private and sensitive data that is commonly stored in repositories such as SharePoint and file servers.”

Since debuting in early 2013, Acaveo has aggressively advanced its product portfolio while setting the bar for a new class of enterprise software in the information management problem space.

“SIS 2 is changing how we think about enterprise information management software,” says Greg Campbell, Chief Architect, Acaveo. “Instead of a complex, high-cost deployment that ultimately introduces vendor lock-in with a company’s data, SIS 2 delivers high value and return on investment with its query-driven information management approach. In this way, our software is able to be applied with minimal requirements and it seamlessly acts as a unification and automation layer for intelligence and policies over top of the existing information infrastructure.”

Acaveo has found increasing adoption in the marketplace by offering Smart Information Server to data cleanup efforts, often as part of migrating to the cloud or as the mechanism for conducting defensible deletion.

In addition to this release, Acaveo has recently launched a blog site where it will discuss information management issues and highlight ways that its tools can be applied to modern information governance challenges regarding unstructured data. The blog site can be found at:
