Tariq Drabu, the renowned dentist and leading dental specialist oral surgeon, was delighted to announce that he fully supports No Smoking Day, the campaign being run by the British Heart Foundation. Wednesday March 12th 2014 will be a day when many millions of people in the UK are encouraged and inspired to put down their cigarettes and live a smoke free life.
Tariq Drabu said, “Dentists all over Britain have been encouraged to support the campaign being run by the British Heart Foundation. This is an annual campaign that the Foundation runs extremely successfully. Educating our patients about good oral health and the dangers of smoking is a task I am committed to. This campaign will see thousands of health professionals helping to get the message across to the people of Britain.”
Tariq Drabu is the dentist and owner of the renowned Langley Dental Practice in Middleton, Manchester. He is already known for his excellent work educating people on the dangers of smoking. News of the British Heart Foundation’s request to dentists was published recently by the Dentist Website. The article can be read here.
Tariq Drabu is also highly respected for his tireless dedication to helping as many people as possible to stop smoking. He knows and understands the damage and pain that smoking can cause, especially to oral health. He went on to say, “By educating people about oral health, good hygiene practices, and by teaching them about the dangers of mouth cancers, I feel certain we can help to prevent even more patients from developing this horrific disease, and other smoke related health problems.”
The British Heart Foundation has asked British dentists to help by promoting ‘quit aids’ within their surgeries and by helping to promote local services which are available to support people who want to stop smoking, but who need some help and guidance in order to achieve their goal.
Tariq Drabu continued by saying, “I understand how difficult it is to stop smoking. But it is possible. I have many patients, colleagues and students who have succeeded, and it has changed their lives for the better. My staff and I are dedicated to doing all we can to promote this worthwhile and important campaign, and to helping our patients to stop smoking.”
The theme for this year’s campaign is “V for Victory.” Of the campaign theme, Tariq Drabu said, “This will certainly inspire and motivate people. With education, encouragement and support, I am sure many people will be victorious over their battle with tobacco and nicotine addiction. I am proud that my team and I will be in a position to help.”
Tariq Drabu is a trusted family dentist. In some cases he has treated up to three generations of one family from his practice in Langley. Consequently, he has a genuine understanding of the devastation and heartbreak that mouth cancers and other smoking related diseases can cause to a family. He said, “as part of our regular routine dental examinations we always examine patients for any possible signs of mouth cancer. We also record their smoking and alcohol consumption and issue preventative advice as necessary.”
In closing he said, “All the praise should go to the British Heart Foundation for their hard work every year. There is no doubt that this annual date saves lives. I’m very pleased they have asked dentists around the country to lend their support. As medical professionals, we should all be working together to improve the health of the nation.”
