Altamonte Springs Police Get Mobile License Plate Recognition from NDI-RS
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- NDI Recognition Systems welcomes its newest license plate recognition customer, the Altamonte Springs Police Department. The department will be installing a mobile license plate recognition system to help its officers identify wanted vehicles, track criminal activity, and react to specific alerts, such as AMBER and Silver alerts. The Altamonte Springs system will connect with the NDI-RS back office solution owned and operated by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, which both improves inter-agency cooperation and reduces the operating and maintenance cost for the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
NDI-RS automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solutions are ideal for strategic operations and monitoring. The solutions check license plates, matching them against crime databases like the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), state and local wants and warrants, and specific hotlists that can be created by the Altamonte Springs Police Department. In addition to alerting officers in real time, the NDI-RS solutions capture and store information in the Vehicle Intelligence Server and Communications Engine (VISCE) back-office software, and that data is fully searchable. This information can be analyzed by law enforcement to identify vehicles of interest, track activity, and much more.
“The Altamonte Springs Police Department joins a large and growing number of NDI-RS customers in the state of Florida and across the country, including the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the Daytona Beach Police Department, and the Orlando Police Department, who are using license plate recognition to protect citizens, investigate criminal activity, and enforce laws,” said Christopher McKissick, Director of Sales. “Using our solutions, law enforcement agencies receive real-time data and can use that information to protect the public and fight crime.“
