Reuseit.com Encourages People to #Resolve2Reuse in 2014
Madison, VA (PRWEB) December 18, 2013 -- With the New Year right around the corner, and the inevitable resolutions that come with it, Reuseit.com is encouraging people to make a promise that will benefit the planet by joining their #Resolve2Reuse campaign.
Reuseit.com, a member of 1% for the Planet, is asking Instagram account holders to post pictures of themselves with their favorite reusable product along with what they will be resolving to reduce more of in 2014. The eco-friendly company invites social media users to include the hashtag #Resolve2Reuse along with tag @reuseitstore, the brand’s handle, with their resolution. The initiative will run through March to encourage people to continue with their eco resolution long after the New Year has begun.
“It can be really overwhelming to begin to reduce waste from your life,” said Allison Kinney, Brand Manager of Reuseit.com. “We are very excited to be able to give people the tools they need to begin to take the little steps that will eventually lead to big change.”
According to a 2009 study by the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery published by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, an extra million tons of waste is generated each week.
Waste-reducing resolutions can include switching from single-use plastic grocery bags to reusable shopping bags; ditching plastic baggies in favor of reusable snack sacks; rethinking gift wrap by using paper-less options to wrap gifts throughout the year, and trading in paper towels and dryer sheets for alternative, reusable versions.
Reuseit.com donates 1% of their sales each year to organizations devoted to the preservation and restoration of our natural environment, like American Rivers, Surfrider Foundation and Rainforest Alliance.
