LBA is offering five grants that will bring the gift of a healthy home to families in impoverished areas of Mexico.
Greenville, NC (PRWEB) December 18, 2013
LBA Group, Inc. and its employees wrap up the company’s 50th anniversary year by awarding eight grants to Heifer International and a significant contribution locally to The Salvation Army. The funds will benefit countless families during the Holiday Season and the coming New Year.
One LBA grant being administered by Heifer International will help women launch small businesses in Peru. These financial resources go toward training, education and startup capital. Women who can increase their income by operating their own business are not only better able to support their families, but they can become leader in their communities as well.
LBA is offering five grants that will bring the gift of a healthy home to families in impoverished areas of Mexico. This gift supports projects that give families the opportunities to earn the income they need to improve their living conditions. The families are then able to purchase much needed roofing materials, bricks, concrete and other materials necessary to maintain a healthy home.
Two other grants are also being made by LBA to Heifer International’s Family Farm Care initiative. This gift will provide families in parts of Mexico with the training and tools they need to improve farm productivity and market their products. The ultimate benefits will allow small, failing farms to become dependable sources of income for struggling families.
LBA founder Lawrence Behr is proud of his Hispanic heritage and happy his company can give back to efforts that help various Latin American communities. Behr also believes it’s important to be a good neighbor. That’s why the company has contributed to The Salvation Army over the years to provide assistance to those in need in and around its headquarters in Greenville, NC.
Since 1944, Heifer International has worked to give more than 18.5 million families around the world a hand up, not a handout by providing life-changing gifts. The Salvation Army provides assistance to nearly 30 million Americans. LBA is honored to be able to partner with these organizations and play a small part in helping to change people’s lives.
