Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 23, 2013

Thousands of organizations are excluded from the federal government’s policies on indirect cost recovery on federal grants. For these recipients and subrecipients, there is currently no way to obtain an indirect cost rate agreement that is negotiated with a federal cognizant agency. Federal agency cost negotiators simply refuse to deal with anyone with which their agency doesn’t have a direct funding relationship. The Jan. 7 Federal Fund Management Advisor webinar, “Recovering Federal Grant Indirect Costs (When You Don’t Have a Cognizant Agency),” will provide helpful strategies aimed at helping affected organizations, such as subrecipients, overcome restrictive indirect cost recovery policies.

Federal grants expert and principal of Federal Fund Management Advisor, Bob Lloyd, will offer participants guidance on:

  • Effectively challenging restrictive indirect cost recovery policies using existing federal rules;
  • Developing an understandable cost allocation plan and rate calculation;
  • Advancing workable ways to get primary grantees into the negotiation business;
  • Getting primary grantees to accept the rate developed;
  • Obtaining support for the rate calculation through the annual audit; and
  • Learning what OMB is considering as part of its grant reform effort.
