American Institute of Architects, Hanley Wood to Launch Online Learning Platform for Architects
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- The American Institute of Architects and Hanley Wood announce an extension of their integrated media partnership to deliver online education to AIA members that will support life-long learning, meet membership and licensing requirements and simplify the reporting process.
The new AIA University will launch in January 2014 and provide digital access to courses designed to provide Continuing Education (CEU) credits via a secure, online environment developed and supported by Hanley Wood. The programming itself will be supplied by AIA including educational programming captured at the 2013 AIA Annual Convention as well as relevant content developed through AIA Design and Practice initiatives.
AIA members will benefit in many ways, including:
• One stop access to enough credits to meet the AIA Membership requirements;
• 60 hours of HSW;
• Credit reported to your transcript within 48 hours;
• Transcripts accepted by most State Licensing Boards;
• Many courses also have GBCI credits for LEED credential maintenance.
Hanley Wood will leverage its powerful marketing services and audience development capabilities to generate adoption of AIA University by architects as a source for CEU credit. The company will also work with AIA to develop additional course programming based on the needs of AIA members including areas of focus in energy, health, materials, resilience and practice management.
“At the AIA, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art continuing education courses,” said AIA Chief Executive Officer, Robert Ivy, FAIA. “This new offering features multiple channels, better user interface and allows our members to earn all their credits in one location.”
Hanley Wood is the publisher of ARCHITECT magazine, the official magazine of the AIA, and the official management partner for the AIA Convention. Hanley Wood is a leader in providing information and continuing education resources to architects, designers, specifiers, and builders in the residential and commercial construction and design market. Through its Hanley Wood University brand, the company delivers hundreds of courses to a diverse range of industry professionals across a wide array of topic areas. AIA will be selecting appropriate courses from HWU to augment the AIAU course catalog.
“Hanley Wood believes in the mission of AIA, and we are pleased to partner in service to its members and all building design professionals," said Peter Goldstone, CEO of Hanley Wood. “We are an established educator for the architecture profession, and our experience in building custom learning solutions for our customers makes us a great partner for AIA in online education.”
