Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) December 20, 2013
The recession has seemingly spotlighted small businesses, bringing to the forefront, their need for expansion and development to fuel growth in America. Service 1st Energy Solutions has certainly done just that during this time, installing over 750 kilowatts of residential solar power and 1.89 megawatts solely in the commercial sector. Combined, all of these solar installations are producing over $350,000 in electricity.
Starting in 2011, the Director of Research and Development, Scott Shaw, along with company co-founder, Tim Fromhart, utilized an educational campaign concept to foster relationships and increase awareness of solar power for non-profit organizations in Las Vegas. This was the beginning of a small company going big.
“Our approach has been different,” says Fromhart, “We understand that so much of what we do is purely education and awareness. We have to educate our customers about the cost savings, incentives, return on investment and payback periods. It’s our job to have all the answers and make our customers feel at ease. When we do this, we know that solar energy sells itself.”
As part of this approach, Service 1st Energy Solutions utilized “The Renewable Power Hour,” a block program on CBS Radio, FM 100.5 KXNT, to provide Las Vegas residents with a better understanding of their options for power, as well as develop recognition for solar energy.
The radio show served as a valuable way to inform consumers and also help generate insight into the changing world of renewable technology. This approach is also what brought to life the company’s burgeoning commercial sector, developed to benefit non-profit organizations by cutting or eliminating their energy costs.
The company has grown from nine installers to 30, working in teams to cover residential and commercial installations. Service 1st Energy Solutions now has a platform focused on long term growth and awareness of solar energy capabilities in a city with an abundance of sunshine, but very little actual solar production.
As 2013 comes to an end, Service 1st Energy Solutions can look back to see a ground breaking year of installations; not only generating more revenue, but employing more people and helping the overall economy in Las Vegas. This could be the epitome of small business America - alive and well.
