BlueInGreen® Names Vance Clement Vice President
Fayetteville, AR (PRWEB) December 19, 2013 -- Clete Brewer, CEO of BlueInGreen, LLC announced that Vance Clement has been named Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Clement began work for the company in November and will oversee the company’s sales and marketing teams as BlueInGreen moves from predominately developing new water quality treatment products to launching and successfully distributing new products.
With over 20 years of progressive professional experience in sales and marketing, Mr. Clement has the expertise required to lead BlueInGreen into its next phase of growth. His most recent position was Sr. Director of Marketing for Mako Surgical Corp., where he worked for four years. Mako, a medical device, start-up company selling robotic capital equipment and implants for orthopaedic surgery, grew from an installed base of 17 systems with $20M in sales to more than 150 systems installed and over $100M in sales. Upon his arrival at Mako, the company had participated in fewer than 1,000 surgeries representing 2% market share. During Mr. Clement’s four years, Mako completed more than 23,000 surgeries and captured 20% market share. He led the development and launch of the company’s second product, which resulted in over $20M in software application sales and $5M in repeat implant sales in its first two full years on the market.
Previously, Mr. Clement spent ten years at Smith & Nephew, a global orthopaedic company based in Memphis, Tennessee. He served in a variety of positions: Sr. Director of Medical Education, Technical Sales Director, European Business Development Manager, and various product management roles. As European Business Development Manager for Hip Replacements, he resided in Brussels, Belgium from 2000 to 2002 and led the European Sales Team to 12% annual sales growth. He began his career as an Industrial Engineer at Wright Medical Technology.
"Vance brings the skills needed at BlueInGreen to further develop our sales and marketing organization as we move from concentrating on product development to executing on the sales front.” said Clete Brewer, CEO of BlueInGreen. "Vance’s previous work with selling organizations, distribution chains and international markets will help us continue to expand the availability of our products throughout the United States and globally.”
Mr. Clement holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Arkansas and an M.B.A. from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee. He was inducted into the Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineers in 2013.
