Amsterdam, NY (PRWEB) December 20, 2013
The Saint Jude Retreats is proud to announce that on December 17, 2013 the Business Development Director, Susanne Herrmann, created a Non-12 step group on LinkedIn for professionals in the field and followers of the non-treatment movement.
Herrmann is looking forward to the opportunity to build a thriving network of people who are distancing themselves from addiction treatment and ideology, whether they are expressing professional or personal interest for alternatives to traditional substance use treatment. Saint Jude Retreats is an alternative to 12 step programs, based on research that shows that addiction is not an incurable, genetic disease, but a choice and can be overcome through a positive thought process, positive choice making and self-directed neuroplastic change.
The active involvement of Herrmann on LinkedIn recently lead to the building of an informal social network of professionals interested in alternatives to treatment and that provoked the idea to create a group that will be able to collaborate virtually. “I am very excited to create a non-12 step group on LinkedIn where like-minded professionals can create informative and interesting discussions as well as learn the latest research in substance use. Our intent is to hold the very first non-12 step conference in New York City next year and to invite professionals from the group to attend or participate in some way. We’d like to make it an annual national conference and eventually grow it into a world conference,” says Herrmann.
The Business Development Director, Susanne Herrmann, did not expand on the plans for a National Non-12 step conference but said that Baldwin Research Institute, the parent company of Saint Jude Retreats, is actively working on developing new strategies for a larger outreach and awareness that will be implemented by the end of next year.
