SBS Group Continues Tradition of Giving Back During the Holidays
Edison, NJ (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- For the past 10 years, SBS has selected an organization to support during the holiday season. This year, employees of SBS Group, a leading technology consulting firm, rallied together and collected over 75 toys for the Support Center for Child Advocates Annual Holiday Toy Drive. The Support Center for Child Advocates is located in Philadelphia and provides legal assistance and social service advocacy for abused and neglected children.
For the many children that the Support Center provides for, the holidays are difficult. These children are often separated from their parents or siblings and at least 90% come from families living below the poverty level. Each child has experienced a significant trauma in their short lives that has destroyed their holiday spirit. The Support Center for Child Advocates Annual Holiday Toy Drive was organized with the intent of restoring that holiday spirit by providing every child with a gift. Toys delivered to the Center will be sorted, wrapped, and packaged for delivery by event organizers and volunteers. Last year, the toy drive provided enough toys to spread holiday cheer to over one thousand families.
“It has become part of our SBS family tradition to collect toys and bring a little piece of magic to children who are less fortunate,” Michelle Kovacs, organizer of the SBS toy drive. SBS prides itself on the philanthropic endeavors they participate in each year. This year employees have participated in Wacky Bowling benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a plane pull to support Special Olympics, and countless food drives to support local shelters. Philanthropy has always been part of the SBS culture and we strive to enhance our outreach each year.
