AlertSystems Have Responded to the News That Burglars Have Stolen Christmas Meat
(PRWEB UK) 28 December 2013 -- According to an article published in the Lancashire Evening Post on the 20th of December, 2013, thousands of pounds of meat that had been prepared for Christmas has allegedly been stolen from a butcher’s shop. Burglars are said to have smashed down a gate in the back yard and forced their way into a walk-in-fridge, seizing up to £6,000 of meat.
Gary Rowles, the owner of the butchers explained that the stock was destined for customers for over the Christmas period, but they needn’t be concerned, and that he has good suppliers.
Whilst completing his orders isn’t a concern, he did admit to feeling “gutted… a lot of work had gone into it and they just came and took it for nothing.”
Following the robbery, Mr Rowles has made the shop more secure with increased security, including CCTV security systems.
A spokesperson from leaders and specialists in monitored alarm systems and commercial security, AlertSystems, have commented on the investigation by saying ‘unfortunately, crimes like this are highly common, and attacks like this at Christmas can be all the more devastating. Local businesses like butchers rely heavily on the build up to Christmas to ensure their survival, it can be tough if a robbery of this magnitude precedes the festive season.
‘Police may struggle to identify and find the offenders of this crime as CCTV security systems weren’t installed until after the event, but if the offenders decide to try again, the police should have sufficient evidence to track down the suspects.'
