New Video from Overhead Door Educates Homeowners on Benefits of Insulated Garage Doors
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- Overhead Door Corporation, the company that invented the upward-lifting garage door, is educating homeowners about the benefits of insulated garage doors with a new video.
The video, part of Overhead Door’s Garage Door Selection 101 series, points out various features of an insulated door and how having an insulated door on the garage will benefit the homeowner. Education includes a brief summary of R-value, which is how the effectiveness of insulation is expressed – the higher the R-value, the more insulation a particular door has, temperature control and its importance in certain climates, and quieter operation.
“Insulation should be just as important a factor in garage door selection as style and color, especially if you live in a region with exceptionally cold winters or hot summers,” said Kevin Jones director of brand management at Overhead Door Corporation. “With the garage frequently being the primary entrance to a home and with living space often adjacent to the garage, keeping the garage at a comfortable temperature is a high priority for many homeowners.”
Overhead Door offers several residential garage doors with varying levels of insulation allowing customers to choose the door that best fits their needs. Overhead Door’s Thermacore line of premium insulated steel garage doors offers an R-value of up to 17.5, the highest level of any of the Overhead Door collections.
“With the extreme weather we’ve experienced across much of the country already this winter, selecting a door that will regulate the temperature of a home’s garage could offer homeowners a more comfortable in-home climate and that’s something we all can appreciate this time of year,” said Jones.
