Marie Rippel of All About Learning Press, Inc. to Speak at Meeting of Literacy Task Force
Eagle River, WI (PRWEB) January 03, 2014 -- Marie Rippel, literacy expert and the author of the award-winning All About Reading and All About Spelling programs, is the featured speaker scheduled for the annual meeting of the Literacy Task Force of Northern Wisconsin on January 16, 2014.
Rippel will speak on the subject of helping children, teens, and adults who struggle with reading. "Over 34% of children struggle with learning to read," says Rippel. "That is such a shame, because with the right approach, learning to read can be so easy and enjoyable for children.”
Rippel’s All About Reading and All About Spelling programs are published by All About Learning Press, Inc., and are based on the Orton-Gillingham instructional approach. The programs use multisensory lessons to teach students the way they learn naturally—through sight, sound, and touch. The Literacy Task Force of Northern Wisconsin is a member of Wisconsin Literacy, Inc., a state-wide coalition that supports volunteer adult and family literacy services. Rippel’s presentation will be of use to teachers, tutors, home educators, and parents of struggling readers.
The meeting will be held in the Smith Room of the Minocqua Public Library on 415 Menominee Street in Minocqua, Wisconsin. A light dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., followed by the presentation and meeting at 6:00 p.m. There is no cost for the presentation and the public is welcome.
