AppyChristian -- a new iPhone and Android app has been launched that helps Christians practice their faith everyday through a simple game. Jyeep, the app developer believes this app can be a great goal setting and New Year’s resolution management tool for Christians.
User of the AppyChristian app simply shakes the phone and gets 3 random cards with suggestions for Christian deeds. Users can shake again to select different deeds. Once a card is selected, the app lets the user schedule the selected event in their phone calendar. The aim of the game is to achieve a score of 100 points a week by completing 10 deeds. Users can monitor their individual progress over time.
Why use an app for this? Studies have shown that many Christians are actively using social media to further their faith. For example, Facebook users actively using an iPhone or Android phone, who also show direct interest in Christian online groups is estimated to be over 25 million just in US, UK, Canada and Australia (1). Churches are also actively using technology to spread the Word. Over 40% of Congregation in US are using Facebook (2). AppyChristian hopes to bridge the gap between knowing the Faith and practicing the Faith.
While most Christians would like to practice their faith, they simply do not get around to doing this actively. AppyChristians helps followers to focus and commit to doing good Christian deeds.
AppyChristian app is available in the iTunes store and Google’s Playstore as a free download. Jyeep is also the developer of Appyforever and other religions, health & wellbeing based apps.
