Wedding florist Todich Floral Design predicts bright colours will bloom in 2014
London (PRWEB UK) 6 January 2014 -- London wedding florist Todich Floral Design predicts that in floral styling and bridal flower fashion for 2014, there will start be a move away from the quaint vintage styles of recent years towards more elegant, daring designs that incorporate wild contrasts and brights. Vintage has been an enormous trend both on and off the catwalks over the past few years, but floral fashion, like interior design, often takes its cues from the catwalk, and during the last Fashion Week, bright colours were a strong feature for next year.
During the September Fashion Week Shows showcasing Spring/Summer collections for 2014, designers showcased boldy clashing kaleidoscopes of colour, as well as single pieces in bright monochrome hues. Ralph Lauren featured dresses in primary hues and greens, Fendi showcased fiery reds and bright corals, Yamamoto went in for daring clashes including orange and electric blue, and Tata-Naka went in heavily for colour-blocking as well as surreal-feeling polychromatic prints.
Such bright, contrasting colours can provide a real wow-factor to floral arrangements for the home or bridal flowers and work particularly well as a spring wedding flowers idea, providing an interesting alternative to the more often-favoured pastel tones. London based bridal florist Todich Floral Design has observed this trend cropping up evermore frequently in wedding flowers requests and among corporate and private clients looking for a more daring style that breaks with the norm.
Zlatko “Todd” Todic, founder of Todich Floral Design says, “Tropical flowers such as curcuma, orchids and strelitzia are great for creating this look and producing modern flower designs with strong outlines. More wild, natural compositions look lovely in contrasting bright colours too, with dahlias, delphinium, hydrangea, roses, lilies, sweet William and alliums all being particularly good for this style.”
Whether the design is modern and structured, or natural and wild, floral stylist Todich Floral Design predicts we’ll see a lot more of bright colours in 2014 bridal wedding flowers and floral designs. For those wanting to try their hand at creating a bright flower arrangement at home, yellows and oranges provide a great contrast to violet and also offset bright blue. Reds and greens, or dark and pale pinks teamed with pistachio look lovely too, as do purples, lilacs and lavenders combined with bright lime or dark green. Or for those who are really brave, the full colour spectrum can be combined!
