Charlotte, NY (PRWEB) December 30, 2013

Chris Hobart, CEO of Hobart Financial Group, a leading Charlotte retirement planning company, responds to an article published by USA Today on December 17th, which details how many entrepreneurs lack retirement savings.

According to the article on USA Today titled “Self-employed face a retirement crisis,” the majority of self-employed entrepreneurs and business owners are not saving for retirement. The article reveals that a retirement survey conducted by TD Ameritrade discovered that 40 percent of self-employed individuals are not saving for retirement on a consistent basis and 28 percent neglect saving all together.

The article says that this failure to save for retirement was a trend in 29 percent of entrepreneurs in Generation X and 32 percent of self-employed workers in Generation Y. And even while many are not saving for retirement, 83 percent of the entrepreneurs that do save say they will have to cut back on saving for retirement in the future due to financial obstacles.

Chris Hobart, CEO of Hobart Financial Group, a leading Charlotte retirement planning firm, says this failure to save for retirement could be detrimental. “Most business owners and self-employed workers make enough to live and invest back into the company,” he says. “They plan to invest all they have so their company will grow into a successful venture. However, it’s never smart to put all your eggs in one basket. Business owners, entrepreneurs, and self-employed individuals really need to think about their future. They need to balance investing and saving at the same time. If they don't, they could lose everything and suffer financially during retirement.”
