"Employment Dispute Between County of Essex, New Jersey and Dr. Natarajan Elangovan Settled"
(PRWEB) December 26, 2013 -- Dr. Natarajan Elangovan and the County of Essex are pleased to announce that they have resolved any differences over the cessation of Dr. Elangovan’s employment as the Medical Director of the Essex County Hospital Center.
The County acknowledges and appreciates Dr. Elangovan for his years of service to the County and the patients of the Hospital Center. Dr. Elangovan was instrumental in transitioning the County from the antiquated and outmoded former Hospital Center into the new and modern Hospital Center.
Through the years, together, the County Administration and Dr. Elangovan shared ideas and concerns about the standard of care at the Center. These concerns, involving personnel and compliance standards, were either addressed or were being addressed at the time of the latest Joint Commission inspection. The inspection report was troubling for all involved however the Commission spokesperson confirmed that there was nothing serious enough for the hospital to lose its accreditation.
The County made an Executive Decision, to institute totally new leadership changes in lieu of the report. However, that decision should not imply any County judgment or opinion about the performance of Dr. Elangovan or his professional integrity. In fact, the County recognizes Dr. Elangovan for his leadership and extensive qualifications and experience.
Both Dr. Elangovan and the County of Essex and their legal counsel have agreed to keep the terms of the resolution of their differences confidential.
Dr. Elangovan was represented by Jon Green of Green, Savits & Lenzo, LLC in Morristown, NJ and Essex County was represented by Essex County Counsel, James Paganelli.
