The social network aims at “Connecting the Automotive World” by allowing enthusiasts to exhibit their collection of cars, car parts and accessories online with fellow enthusiasts. Maxime Rassi, Creator and President, says Garagesocial resulted from “the realization that we can categorize auto related activity on the web under four basic needs: networking, commerce, entertainment and news. The platform unites these four needs in perfect harmony.”
“We have created the ultimate automotive social network,” says Rassi. Since their beta launch, Garagesocial has already exceeded over 1000 new signups. Rassi and his team have been working on getting the platform ready for their broader public launch in early 2014. As of now, company pages for automotive related business to display their inventory will be added to the site. A blogging and news section has been announced to be released shortly.
Recently, Garagesocial exhibited at the annual SEMA Show from November 5-8, 2013 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. A press conference and a live demonstration of the networking site was held at the SEMA Show Media Center. The Boston start-up plans on exhibiting this upcoming March at the 2014 SXSW Interactive Trade Show in Austin, Texas and is making an appearance at the 2014 Daytona Race in Florida.
