“Once upon a time, many domestic employers would take their initial employment candidates at their word,” said Basichis. “They would accept on face value that their candidates had legitimate college degrees. But with the general recognition of diploma mills and counterfeit diplomas, that time has come and gone. Employers realize they have to conduct education verification searches domestically and internationally."

Basichis reiterated that domestic production on durable goods has increased substantially. “Durable goods orders in the recent past have increased by 3.5 percent,” said Basichis. “Manufacturing requires a rather large labor pool.
