WOWZERS® Curbs "Summer Slide" in Math by Offering Students Access to Game-Based Digital Learning Solution Throughout Summer Months
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 30, 2013 -- Award-winning digital learning solution Wowzers® announced today that it has extended access to its powerful, cloud-based platform, which delivers Common Core math curriculum via story-driven games and activities. Aptly named “Wowzers Summer Explorers,” the free program will allow students who already use Wowzers in their school or classroom environments to easily continue on their learning path by accessing the program on their home computer or mobile devices with the same login credentials at a special summer website – summer.wowzers.com. Students logging into the summer will receive live assistance from Wowzer’s tutors, allowing students to easily participate without additional teacher or parent oversight.
Wowzers Summer Explorers will also provide students who have not previously used the program to attain full access to its adaptive learning environment, which allows students to learn at their own pace. Students interested in attaining login credentials to award-winning Wowzers program can direct their parents or teachers to the free signup page: http://info.wowzers.com/explorers or call 800-323-6702.
According to a study from the University of Missouri, students can lose up to two months of Math learning during their summer vacation -- nearly 25 percent of the school year’s content. To combat this, the Wowzers Summer Explorer program exposes students to challenging concepts that will keep their skills fresh and help prepare them for the next year.
“We are excited about the launch of our Summer Explorers program, which is enabling students to stay mentally active during the summer and avoid the “Summer Slide,” said Andrew Howard, president of Wowzers. “Just a few hours a week on Wowzers can have a profound impact on students ability to re-engage in the classroom after summer break.”
Students using a web browser can access Wowzers immediately. Beginning June 16th, students will also be able to log in using native apps for iOS and Android devices that can be downloaded for free at: wwz.rs/android-wow, wwz.rs/iOS-wow .
Wowzers Summer Explorers will last throughout the summer months and will include live, online tutoring support Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 CST.
Wowzers classroom management system includes a complete third through fifth-grade Common Core curriculum, as well as a supplemental sixth through eighth-grade curriculum. With their Wowzers account, students gain access to the Wowzers world, where they create a personal avatar, earn milestone award “coins” and play games that teach math skills. Wowzers content automatically adjusts in difficulty based on the student’s performance.
