On April 27, 2011, an outbreak of tornadoes ripped through Alabama. Landry and her family were thrown from a neighbor’s home into a nearby field. If not for the determination and care they received from neighbors while waiting on emergency personnel, their story may not have had a happy ending.
The book documents the hardships of those impacted by the disaster as well as their incredible resolve. It describes how Landry is able to overcome anxiety, pain, depression and fear in order to discover what is truly important to her, family, close friends and God.
“There were so many times that I was ready to give up. My children and I were displaced from each other. We had no home. We had nothing. Even though our situation was confusing and very painful, God was making a way,” says Landry.
Taking readers through her personal journey of pain, suffering and healing, Landry aims to show survivors of other natural disasters that they are not alone. There is always hope.
“I wrote this book for others. I want people to know that no matter what the devastation, there are others that have endured the pain. We do understand the pain,” says Landry.
