Premier Beverage Company Announces $25 Million Contribution to FL Scholarship Program, Bringing the Company Total to Nearly $65 Million Since 2011
(PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Premier Beverage Company today announced it will be redirecting another $25 million in tax liability to Step Up For Students, the non-profit that administers the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program. Premier’s contribution will fund nearly 5,000 scholarships for the 2013-14 school year.
As a part of Premier’s community involvement initiatives, the company recently arranged an appearance on the Bayside Show, a Tampa Bay area community talk show, where Jenna Ingraham, director of public relations for Premier, spoke of the company’s involvement with the scholarship program and the impact the relationship has had on Premier employees.
“At Premier Beverage, we believe one of the most important investments we can make is in our children who are the future leaders of our companies, communities and government, and our participation in the Step Up For Students program is a big source of corporate pride throughout our organization,” said Ingraham.
Premier Beverage Company, one of the largest distributors of wine, spirits and other beverages in Florida, joined Step Up For Students as a corporate partner in 2011 and has since redirected $64,450,000 to the program. During the show, Ingraham also encouraged other corporations who may be eligible to participate in the tax credit program to give.
“We saw the opportunity to partner with Step Up For Students as a win-win situation for our company,” said Ingraham. “We would definitely recommend joining Step Up For Students to any company that has a Florida tax liability.”
Premier Beverage Company’s total contributions have funded more than 14,000 scholarships for low-income families since 2011.
“Our partnership with Premier is tremendous, and without their support, our organization wouldn’t be able to provide as many scholarships to families in need,” said Doug Tuthill, president of Step Up For Students. “We are extremely grateful for our relationship with Premier and know that there are about 5,000 families in Florida just this year whose lives will directly benefit from their contribution.”
Each year, the cap on funding the scholarship organization increases by 25 percent if Step Up For Students hits at least 90 percent of its fundraising goal the previous year. This year, Step Up For Students fulfilled its cap of $286 million in about six months, which was faster than ever before. With the help of donors like Premier Beverage, the organization expects approximately 60,000 Step Up scholars to attend the school of their parents’ choice in the 2013-14 school year.
