Light in Motion Introduces Their New Family of Surface Mount Products with the QEB651 - a Fast Switching, High Output, Sub Miniature Surface Mount Infrared Emitter
Milpitas, California (PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- Today, Light in Motion LLC announces their new surface mount infrared AlGaAs LED emitter, incorporating a parabolic reflector, giving an emission angle of 30 deg., with a minimum output of 25mW/sr.
Generally small outline packages, due to their compact size, result in lower outputs over a wider emission angle. The QEB651 incorporates a gold plated parabolic reflector in the substrate, which counteracts the poorer lens effect usually associated with small packages. The resultant improvement in output and concentration of photons into a narrow beam allows those manufacturers in the past who have had to incorporate through-hole emitters to obtain the output and emission angle, to now have a surface mount alternative in the QEB651. This also saves on reduced manufacturing time and costs.
Applications requiring an infrared emitter mounted on a surface mount board for use in remote transfer of data/state to a detector/microprocessor; infrared illumination (for IR cameras, and proximity sensing); and photoelectric sensing (for automation).
Data sheets, and samples, are available through Customer.Service(at)lightinmotion(dot)com and lead time for production quantities is 70 days. The one off pricing is $0.40 each (US).
Light in Motion manufacture and supply the hermetic metal can emitters and detectors and optical interrupters recently discontinued by Fairchild Semiconductor.
