(PRWEB UK) 2 July 2013 -- According to the Romford Recorder on June 24 in the article Romford Woman, Samantha Hansford, Appointed As Apprentice Ambassador, the training charity JTL, who is a training provider to the building services industry, has selected Samantha Hansford to be an apprentice ambassador for the charity.
The twenty year old is one of ten ambassadors chosen for the role with the aim to encourage more young women to consider apprenticeships in the plumbing, electrical, heating and ventilation sectors of the industry. In her role she will attend events across the country to speak of her experience as an apprentice in the industry.
She told the Romford Recorder that:
“I’m delighted to be taking part in this programme. Women can do this kind of work just as well as men, but because industries such as electrical and plumbing are traditionally male-dominated, girls don’t even consider becoming apprentices.”
We Fix Now, who provide electricians and plumbers in Hampstead, throughout London and the surrounding counties, welcomed this recent news. A spokesperson for the company commented on apprenticeships and what they mean for the future of the industry:
“Anyone interested in working in the plumbing or electricity sectors should consider an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships offer all those interested in the plumbing and electrical industries vital training and development that helps them become proficient in the sector. The training provides young people with the skills and training that is important in allowing them, once they’ve started work, to work to a high-standard for their customers. This scheme should further motivate and encourage young people who are interested in the industry to look into training and apprenticeship schemes and so is promising for the future of the industry. We look forward to seeing the impact this scheme will have on the industry.”
