Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) awarded Raman P. Rama, CHA, with the title of CHA Emeritus during the Stars of the Industry Luncheon June 19 at the American Hotel & Lodging Association Summer Summit in Denver.
The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute recognizes the achievements of those leaders whose long-term dedication and commitment to excellence and further education have shaped and inspired our industry. The CHA Emeritus is awarded to a Certified Hotel Administrator in recognition of his or her long and illustrious career in the hospitality industry. This is not an annual award; it is bestowed only when EI's Certification Commission and Board of Trustees finds a candidate who has shaped the industry through leadership, education, and service. The career of an Emeritus is marked by distinguished achievement in all facets of the industry, signifying a commitment to the past, present, and future of the hospitality environment. Those so honored have played a unique role in shaping the industry’s current environment and are widely recognized as role models by their industry peers.
“The Educational Institute is proud to recognize Raman P. Rama as one of those rare leaders whose long-term dedication and commitment to excellence and further education have shaped and inspired our industry,” said Robert L. Steele III, CHA, president and COO of EI. “Those who earn the title of CHA Emeritus have made significant contributions to the hospitality industry through leadership, education, and professional involvement. The Emeritus honor is presented only to select individuals after a career of distinguished contributions and we are pleased to add Mr. Rama’s name to this distinguished list.”
“I am truly humbled to accept this award, and to be recognized with other industry leaders in this way is an honor,” said Mr. Rama. “I am privileged to be a part of such a respected group consisting of and recipients of this award: Myron Levy (Roosevelt University in Chicago) Gene Rupnik (Rupnik Hospitality Management, Caroline Cooper (Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School), Pedro Mandoki (Mandoki Hospitality, Inc), Richard C.
