The Gervais Group Advances to the Third Round in the Social Madness Competition
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- The Gervais Group, a premier provider of holistic solutions for businesses in online marketing, web design, ecommerce, and reputation management, is pleased to announce that it has advanced to the third round of the “Social Madness Competition” in the Small Business Category of the Atlanta region. The second round featured the first head to head battles between businesses as the contest format shifted from an open competition to a single elimination tournament format.
The Social Madness Competition, which is sponsored by “American City Business Journals”, quantifies the level of engagement of each contestant, using an algorithm specifically formulated for the competition, on some of the largest and most influential social media platforms, as measured by their user populations. Companies can score points in the algorithmic formula in the following ways:
- Votes cast on bizjournals.com
- Likes
- Comments
- Shares
- Other types of customer engagement
The platforms that have been included in the 2013 Social Madness Competition are Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and LinkedIn. While these platforms have been included in the contest, they have not sponsored or endorsed the competition.
The Social Madness Competition places participating companies in one of three categories; Small, Medium, or Large Business, based on each one’s cumulative total of fans, followers and or connections on the selected social media platforms. The location in which each business competes depends on a variety factors including the location of a home office, headquarters, or the presence of separately branded subsidiary.
The Gervais Group, which is competing in the Small Business Category in Atlanta, faced off against Balentine in the second round and advanced to the third round where it goes against “America’s Best Franchising, Inc.”, which defeated Venza Group in the second round. The companies rounding out the Final Four in the Small Business/Atlanta Region are Harry Norman Realtors, which advanced against Mannington Commercial, and Century Apartment Homes, which won out over Taylor, Feil, Harper, Lumsden and Hess P.C.
Head to head competition in the third round starts on June 25th and concludes on July 1st. The regional finals in all categories will run from July 2nd through July 8th, where regional/local winners will be crowned and the national competition phase will begin.
Since its founding in 2001, The Gervais Group has implemented integrated strategies that incorporate SEO, web design, and reputation management tactics for higher rankings on the search engines, deeper reach into target markets and improved conversion ratios on ecommerce sites.
Fresh from the win in the second round of the Social Madness Competition Jason Gervais, Senior Project Manager of the Gervais Group, said “Balentine was a tough competitor and we feel fortunate to advance to the third round.” He added, “We have another tough matchup against America’s Best Franchising, but we’ll be ready.”
