The North America Office of Duesseldorf Tourism and Duesseldorf Airport Announces: Candida Hoefer Exhibit in Duesseldorf
Düsseldorf, Germany (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- The new Candida Höfer exhibit at Düsseldorf’s Museum Kunstpalast (September 14, 2013 – February 9, 2014) is a multi-layered connection of time, space and art. All pieces shown at this Düsseldorf exhibit were created there over four decades – and several especially for this exhibit - by the artist whose artistic development is intimately linked to the city, creating an experience of viewing the development of a city through a photographer’s eye and the development of an artist in it through one’s own.
Candida Höfer (born 1944) studied at Düsseldorf’s world-renowned Art Academy (Kunstakademie) from 1973-1982 and studied photography under Bernd Becher – together with Andreas Gursky, Thomas Ruff and Thomas Struth – as one of Becher’s first generation students. Ms Höfer’s first solo exhibit took also place in Düsseldorf in 1975, and she returned to the city many times over the years to find her motifs. Her photography is characterized by cool objectivity, precision of details, and a keen interest in structures and order in public spaces.
