New Guide Book for Canon PowerShot S110 Provides the Extra Information Boost Needed by Users of This Advanced Compact Camera
Henrico, Virginia (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- As cameras built into smartphones become more and more capable of taking excellent pictures, manufacturers like Nikon, Sony, and Canon have stepped up their game to produce advanced compact cameras with increasingly sophisticated features. As consumers try to learn how to use those features, though, they often find it difficult to wade through the dense documentation that comes with their camera. Many buyers of the newer cameras find themselves looking for a book that is written specifically about their own model of camera, to provide the additional guidance they need in order to get the most value from their highly capable but quite complex device.
In recognition of the demand for thoroughly researched and illustrated camera guides, White Knight Press has released its newest book,Photographer’s Guide to the Canon PowerShot S110: Getting the Most from Canon’s Pocketable Digital Camera. This 411-page book by Alexander White, like earlier titles in the author’s series of guide books, is designed to cut through the complications of this sophisticated camera and give users a head start in mastering its functions.
The guide book to the S110 explains all operations, features, menus, and controls of the camera, including information about how to capture various types of images as well as when and why to use certain features. The book explains topics such as autofocus, manual focus, depth of field, aperture priority, shutter priority, HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography, white balance, ISO, and macro photography, in the context of getting great results with Canon’s highly pocketable camera. The book gives details about how to take advantage of the camera’s varied array of “Scene” and “Creative Filters” shooting settings.
The guide’s more than 300 photographs, almost all in full color, illustrate the camera’s controls and menus and include examples of the photographs that can be taken using the S110’s many options, including the Creative Filters settings, which alter the color processing and other aspects of images; menu options such as i-Contrast and digital zoom; and the camera’s strong features for continuous shooting.
The book goes beyond the realm of everyday photography with introductions to topics such as infrared photography, street photography, and using the Raw format, which permits a wide range of adjustments to images after they have been captured.
The book also explains the video recording abilities of the PowerShot S110, which can record high-definition (HD) video with stereo sound and can take “Super Slow Motion” movies that slow down action by a factor of eight.
In three appendices, the book discusses accessories, including cases, a filter adapter, and external flash units; contains a list of useful web sites and other resources; and includes helpful “quick tips” that give particular insights into how to take best advantage of the camera’s features.
The book includes a detailed Table of Contents and a full Index, so the reader can quickly find needed information about any particular feature or aspect of the camera.
The White Knight Press guide to the Canon PowerShot S110 is available in digital formats for $9.99 through Amazon.com, the Apple iBookstore, and other major sites, as well as through the publisher’s site, whiteknightpress.com. In addition, because many users like to have a physical book that they can carry in their camera bag, the book is available in a paperback edition for $24.95 through Amazon.com and other online sites.
