Dr. Stuart H. Garber Elected President of the California Homeopathic Medical Society
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Dr. Stuart H. Garber believes in giving back. An early advocate of homeopathy, Dr. Garber has maintained a position on the Board of Directors for the California Homeopathic Medical Society for the past ten years. By unanimous vote, he was recently selected to take the reigns of acting president.
Founded in 1877, The California Homeopathic Medical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the highest standards for homeopathy, the encouragement of homeopathic practice, maintaining the principles of ethics in homeopathic practice and fellowship and personal growth of its members.
For the past thirty years Dr. Stuart Garber has been practicing holistic medicine. He was the first person in the United States to receive a Ph.D. degree in homeopathy and continues to educate the general public about the benefits of this alternative medicine.
“I am excited at this opportunity to take the CHMS to greater heights,” says Garber. “I realize, I have some big shoes to fill, as my predecessors have been some of the most illustrious figures in homeopathy’s history. With the help of a committed and engaged Board of Directors, we will support our membership by strengthening homeopathy’s place in California’s health care delivery system.”
Garber admits he has a vision that he will pursue. "My main goals first and foremost will be to increase membership, cites Garber. “The profession as a whole is fractionated and a strong state organization can unify different types of practitioners regardless of license type or practice style under one umbrella. Inclusion rather than exclusion will be the attractive force. Additionally, I feel all professional organizations must have a political agenda, something the CHMS has not, at least in recent years, identified, and use the power of the group to effect changes at the state level that will positively impact the profession and the public.”
Richard Pitt, fellow board member and editor of The California Homeopath states, “Stuart Garber, as President of the CHMS will bring a wealth of knowledge of the history of the organization and at the same time a vision for the future challenges for homeopathy in California. His experience as a practitioner allows him to understand the concerns of homeopathic and other holistic practitioners in the state and he will be able to ensure that the CHMS supports homeopathy on all fronts in California and help maintain homeopathy as a vital contribution to holistic health care.”
Dr. Garber has been practicing holistic medicine since 1981. He has lectured to the general public as well as medical, dental, chiropractic and acupuncture groups in the United States, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean. Dr. Garber strives to educate the public as well as leading the way for natural remedies to become accessible to the average person. He is the developer of Dr. Garber’s Natural Solutions line of condition specific biotherapy formulas that are sold in Whole Foods Markets in California, Arizona and Nevada and other retail outlets, through doctors’ offices throughout the US, through his website and on Amazon.com. Dr. Garber maintains a private practice in Santa Monica, CA where he also conducts research in natural supplements and homeopathic medicine.
