A Wave of Excitement Hits Surf City, for the Annual 4th of July Celebration
Surf City, NC (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- Local owner Adam Upchurch (Topsail Island Real Estate) announced today that the company will be donating over 1,200 beverages to the Surf City Fire Department. Each year the Surf City Fire Auxiliary features the only refreshment station, a hot dog stand, for the Surf City Independence Day Celebration. They offer beverages & hot dogs to event goers, in an effort to raise money for the Surf City Fire Station. It is estimated that this contribution by The Upchurch Family will more than double their annual profits.
Along with the donation of the beverages, Topsail Island Real Estate has donated commemorative koozies that will be handed out to the first 900 people purchasing beverages to show their support. Dianna Rivenbark (Town of Surf City) has stated that no one has ever offered to supply them with the refreshments needed to support this event. Chief Joseph Rivenbark (Surf City Fire Auxiliary) showed his appreciation for the gesture and acknowledged that this move would help raise substantially more money at the event. Carrie Upchurch (BlueCoast Realty) had this to say about the opportunity. “We are proud that we can show our appreciation and support for these men that risk their lives to ensure our safety. My family has vacationed on Topsail Island for more than 30 years and now I enjoy calling this my home.”
This year, the celebration is scheduled for July 3rd, to leave your Independence Day plans in tact. The festivities are set to kick off at 4:00pm in Surf City at Soundside Park. The park has been decorated and eagerly awaits the arrival of The Mark Roberts Band, who is set to perform in the outdoor amphitheater at 6:00pm. We were instructed that, rain or shine, the full fireworks display will commence at 9:00pm. Whether you plan to have a picnic in the park, anchor your boat in the Intracoastal Waterway, or enjoy the view from your beach house, the fireworks spectacular will not disappoint.
