Imprivata’s new line of authentication devices includes three proximity card readers and two fingerprint readers. Clinicians can expect the same dependability and ease-of-use with Imprivata’s new devices as they currently experience with Imprivata OneSign. For IT administrators, each reader is certified for integration with Imprivata OneSign and technical support is provided directly by Imprivata, ensuring that customers will receive the same level of service from Imprivata for their readers as they currently receive for their OneSign solutions. Other features of Imprivata’s suite of authentication devices include:
• Extended Warranty/Expedited Replacement—Imprivata offers two-year coverage as the standard, baseline warranty for its new suite of readers, which is double the typical one-year warranties from other vendors. In addition, Imprivata offers expedited replacement as a standard service should any of its new readers fail, thereby minimizing workflow disruptions and providing added assurance for customers.
• Flexible Programming—One of the proximity card readers offered by Imprivata is programmable and can accommodate two different card types simultaneously. This provides customers with increased flexibility in their multi-factor authentication deployments, which is especially valuable for hospitals anticipating mergers, acquisitions or other organizational changes that may require updating their access systems.
• FIPS-Compliant Fingerprint Reader—One of the fingerprint readers offered by Imprivata is complaint with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) protocol, helping meet the needs of hospitals with clinical workflows that require stronger authentication processes, such as electronic prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS).
